GLOBAL SITUATION:
The local Slavic population constantly had to fight off the raiders from the southwest so it was traditionally bound with Russia, but always kept its independence. In the 12th Century it was controlled by dukes, in the 13th century it was united by Taras Kozub. The Kozub dynasty ruled until 1631, when Chernarus joined the Russian empire. After the revolution in 1917 Chernarus became an autonomic federal republic, after the demise of the USSR in 1991 it gained independence.Discontent with the Chernarussian government's initiative to align itself with the West, a political faction originating out of the South Zagoria region (known as the Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star or ChDKZ for short) began to form in protest. The group gathered much traction and support with the northern, pro-Russian minority, eventually gathering enough numbers to transition into a fighting force. Anti-government protests and uprisings slowly spread throughout the province, though most are quickly subjugated by security forces.
Civil war breaks out as government troops and ChDKZ insurgents fight for control over South Zagoria.
In late 2009, the ChDKZ launched a full scale province-wide attack against government forces in what would become known as the "September Crisis". Almost all coastal cities in South Zagoria fall under the organisation's control, from harbours, trade routes, and even government centres and military bases.
U.S.-led forces are authorised to intervene on the Chernarussian government's behalf and liberate the region from ChDKZ control. Though the intervention ran into several roadblocks along the way (including a temporary withdrawal at the demand of the Russian government), the United States is able to help the Chernarussian government reclaim control over the occupied province after almost a month. The insurgency group's leader is ultimately captured and its power base is permanently crippled.
Later, after the withdrawal of US-Forces from Chernarussian soil a new government was formed after the open elections, the political power over Chernarus was in the hands of the pro-russian party that ultimately cut all ties to the western powers that helped them in the past. Most high ranking members of that political party are old members of the Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star.
After only a few years with Chernarus under their control, the state of Chernarus is back to its desolate state and the new regime does not allow any further elections. To strengthen their power and wealth once more, the Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star resulted to war, attacking their small pro western neighbor to the north-west.
Having no other option, the US were forced to intervene again, to stabilize the Chernarussian country once and for all.
SITUATION:
After pushing the Chernarus Forces back to their country, we managed to capture the main Airfield in the Area. A secure parameter is set up around the Airfield and the Forces prepare to advance further south. Information from different intelligence agencies indicate that the Chernarus Forces acquired three old Short Range MAZ-543 (9P117) launchers from the sowjet area from Russia. It's unknown if they were able to acquire any nuclear weaponry to fire from those launchers. Either way our forces on the Airfield are at a great risk with those weapons in enemy hands.
Drone footage indicates that one of the MAZ-543 launchers is being moved into a firing position. But we have no idea where. A autonomous drone followed a convoy to one possible location, but was shot down before we could receive the necessary data.
OBJECTIVs:
Objective Alpha:To advance this far into enemy territory you need assistance, big time. For our AC-130U to support you in your advance you need to take care of the Air-Defences stationed in Gorka.
Objective Bravo:
With the open sky you should be able to reach the town of Guglovo. That's the last contact point for our drone. Find the wreckage and retrive the data to locate the mission MAZ-543 Launcher. Move to the location and secure the launcher.
Objective Charlie:
The two remaining MAZ-543 launchers are parked in Staroye secure them before the enemies have a chance to move them somewhere else.
