The year 1968 saw major developments in the Vietnam War. The military operations started with an attack on a US base by
the North Vietnamese People’s Army of Vietnam (PAVN) and the Viet Cong (VC) on January 1, ending a truce declared by the
Pope and agreed upon by all sides. At the end of January, the PAVN and VC launched the Tet Offensive.
As you all know by now we have lost all communication with the veterans of 3rd platoon. This happened in a most
uncertain way. What we do know, is that the territory was supposed to be cleared from hostile troops according to
the latest reports. The 3rd platoon had just received orders to push forward on their digged in positions. A couple
of Hueys were supposed to transport the first part of the platoon when they most likely were shot down by rpg fire.
Recon teams has not confirmed this but the smoke pillars over the trees ahead might testify that.
Your mission is clear - Search for any evidence of what have happened to 3rd platoon. We have three objectives that need to be handled at the same time. Three patrols will leave from here to three different positions.
