Global Situation in 2029: Escalation at the Polish-Belarusian Border
In 2029, the geopolitical situation in Eastern Europe has dramatically escalated. Following an enforced "peace agreement" under the Trump administration that forced Ukraine to cede large parts of its eastern territory, Russia has restructured and modernized its military capabilities. The Russian armed forces have learned from the lessons of the Ukraine war, significantly improving their tactical and strategic capabilities.
NATO and the Return to Article 5
The recently elected U.S. administration has reaffirmed its commitment to NATO and its core principles after years of uncertainty. The consistent adherence to Article 5, which regulates collective defense, has been reaffirmed. The town of Zahrádka is a focal point of the Russian offensive, as it holds a strategic position for further expansion of their attacks. NATO has decided to stop the Russian troops at this point, break their advance, and then carry out a counterattack deep into the area around Nový Dvůr to weaken the enemy forces significantly.The reinforced 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team of the US Army Europe has been tasked with halting the Russian advance at Zahrádka. After a successful defense, a coordinated counterattack will be conducted deep into enemy territory to Nový Dvůr to destroy the enemy forces and secure the area sustainably.
